The Trixie Rustling Hole 10 cm is a small, soft hanging hole for mice. Mice are curious climbers who enjoy making use of height, routes, and sheltered spots. This rustling hole provides them with a cozy place to crawl into, sleep, shelter, or just sit quietly for a moment.
The crinkle foil gives the little den an extra playful effect. When mice crawl inside or move over it, a soft rustling sound is created. This makes the den not only a resting place but also a small enrichment element in the mouse cage. Thanks to the hanging system, you can easily attach the den to the enclosure.

Mice love an enclosure with multiple routes, heights, and hiding places. A well-designed mouse enclosure consists not only of bedding and a small house on the floor, but also of climbing opportunities, hanging spots, and safe routes. The Trixie Rustling Hole fits in perfectly with this.
The burrow provides your mice with a sheltered spot at the top or in the middle of the enclosure. Many mice enjoy sleeping higher up or sitting in a sheltered spot. The soft interior makes the burrow feel comfortable, while the crinkle foil provides extra stimulation during exploration.
The rustling sound makes the product interesting, but not complicated. Your mice don't need to “learn” anything to use it. They can simply crawl inside, sniff at it, move through it, and decide for themselves whether to use it as a sleeping place, play area, or a stopover on their climbing route.
For dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils, this rustling burrow is usually less suitable. These animals live primarily on and under the ground and are less adept with hanging fabric parts. For rats, pygmy rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, degus, and ferrets, the burrow is too small, or nylon is less suitable due to size, usage, or gnawing behavior.
Hang the rustle hole securely from the bars or another safe attachment point in the enclosure. Ensure that the hole cannot swing loosely in a way that becomes awkward for your mice. Preferably place it near a route, for example next to a platform, rope, branch, small ladder, or other climbing element.
Mice may use the burrow higher up in the enclosure because they are good climbers. However, it is important that any potential fall is always caught. Therefore, properly furnish the space under and around the burrow with platforms, hammocks, tunnels, branches, or sufficient soft bedding. This way, it becomes part of a safe route rather than a dangling point.
Do not use the burrow as the only hiding place. Mice like to have multiple options: a small house on the ground, a tunnel, a nesting site, and a hanging burrow. This way, they can choose where they want to sleep or rest.
The rustling sound can make mice extra curious. When they crawl or move into the burrow, a soft sound is produced that invites further exploration. This fits well with the active and curious behavior of mice.
Not every mouse reacts the same way. Some mice crawl right in, while others first sniff cautiously or observe the burrow for a few days before using it. Give your mice plenty of time. Often, a new element becomes more interesting on its own once it smells familiar and becomes part of the permanent setup.
The Trixie Rustle Hole fits well in an active mouse setup. You can combine it with:
Regularly check the hideout for hair, bedding, dirt, and gnaw marks. Shake out loose bedding and clean the product according to the washing instructions. Allow the hideout to dry completely before hanging it back in the enclosure.
Because the burrow is made of nylon, regular inspection is important. Remove the product if loose threads, holes, sharp edges, or damaged suspension points appear. This ensures that use remains clear and comfortable for your mice.
Use the Trixie Rustle Hole only when it is securely hung and easily accessible. Regularly check that your mice are not gnawing on the nylon or the suspension. Hang the hole so that there are safe routes to it and that any potential fall is broken by the furnishings below. Replace the product if it is damaged or develops loose threads.
The Trixie Rustling Hole 10 cm is suitable for mice. Mice are good climbers and can use the hole as a hanging hiding, sleeping, or play spot.
This burrow is usually less suitable for dwarf hamsters because it is a hanging fabric product. Dwarf hamsters prefer low houses, tunnels, and bedding.
For mice, the burrow can be hung higher, as long as there are safe routes leading to it and any potential fall is properly cushioned by the furnishings beneath the burrow.
The crinkle foil emits a soft rustling sound when your mice move. That makes the little burrow extra interesting to explore.
Mice can nibble on materials. Therefore, check the burrow regularly and remove it when loose threads, holes, or damage appear.
Shake out any loose bedding and clean the den according to the washing instructions. Let it dry completely before hanging it back up.
The Trixie Rustling Hole 10 cm is a great choice for owners who want to give their mice an extra cozy, playful, and hanging hiding place. Small, soft, rustling, and beautiful as part of an active mouse cage with routes, hiding places, and climbing opportunities.

Geliefd bij mijn ratten. Het is wel erg kapot aan het gaan omdat ze de binnenvoering eruit trekken.
