How do you use this box?

You can offer the contents all at once, but it is often even more fun to spread the different components over several moments. This keeps the box interesting for longer and allows you to add something new to the enclosure each time. Some products are intended as treats, while others are fun as decoration, chewable material, or playful enrichment.

Carrot food bowl

This cute carrot food bowl is a nice detail for the enclosure. You can offer food or snacks in it, but it can also be used as a water bowl on a stable spot. Thanks to its cheerful shape, it fits perfectly with the cozy spring and summer atmosphere of this box.

Shelled pumpkin seeds

Shelled pumpkin seeds are a real favorite for many gerbils. We have already given the animals a helping hand by shelling the seeds, so they can enjoy this tasty treat right away. Give them in small quantities as an extra treat.

Linseed flax harvest

While gerbils can sometimes be a bit spoiled with shelled pumpkin seeds, with this flaxseed they actually have to get to work themselves. The seeds must be harvested and shelled by the animals themselves. Stick the bunch nicely into the bedding and let the fun begin.

Dari kolf sorghum harvest

Black dari, just like linseed flax, is part of foraging and enriching nutrition. The gerbils are also allowed to work this product out themselves. Marigold flowers

Marigold flowers are very popular with gerbils. They belong to the sweet-smelling flowers. They contain no sugar, but the scent is pleasantly soft and sweet, which is why many animals enjoy nibbling on them. You can offer them loose or scatter them a little throughout the enclosure for a cheerful accent.

Dandelion root

Dandelion root is a nice alternative to regular gnawing wood. Gerbils are true gnawers, and sometimes it is nice to let them sink their teeth into something else. Dandelion root has a somewhat softer texture, is pleasant to gnaw on, and provides a tasty change.

Grass nest

We've also added a nice little grass nest. Yes, there's a good chance the gerbils will quickly transform this into something completely different according to their own judgment, but that's just part of the fun. So, view it primarily as fun destructible toys that they can happily get to work on.

Hummus with millet seed mix

This box also includes hummus, and you can do something really fun with it. Put the hummus in a small bowl or container, sprinkle some millet seed mix on top, and lightly spray it with water. Cover the bowl with a damp piece of paper towel and let it germinate for about a week. Afterward, you can place the bowl near the animals so they can enjoy nibbling on it and sniffing around in it.

Rodent grass

You can apply the same idea with rodent grass. Sow the seeds in a layer of humus or a small container, keep it slightly moist, and let the grass grow quietly at first. Once it has sprouted nicely, you can place it in the enclosure. This provides a fresh green accent and a fun extra nibbling opportunity.

Color Wood in orange and mint green

The Color Wood is, of course, an essential part of a spring and summer look. With the cheerful colors orange and mint green, you instantly give the enclosure a fresh appearance. This box is intended as varied enrichment alongside the standard diet, bedding, and furnishings. Give treats such as pumpkin seeds in moderation, and use the Color Wood primarily as a cheerful accent on top of the regular bedding. It is best to offer sprouted seeds and grass fresh so that your gerbils can enjoy them to the fullest.
