Product description

JR FARM Sushi Rolls – colorful vegetable and herb rolls for extra variety

Sometimes you want to give your rodent or dwarf rabbit a little something extra: a snack that's not only delicious but also encourages sniffing, searching, and nibbling. JR FARM Sushi Rolls are just that. A natural shell contains eight different sushi variations, made with pressed vegetables and coated with herbs and flowers. Ideal as a small reward, a foraging challenge, or simply to add some variety to snack time.

At DRD Rodent Shop® (specialists since 2011), we select snacks that fit a more natural daily routine: offering variety without replacing the basic diet. This way, you can be sure you're giving a well-thought-out snack that truly adds value to their daily care.

8 variations in one set: instantly more variety in taste, texture and aroma.
Vegetables, herbs & flowers: a natural snack base that fits nicely into a varied menu.
Perfect for foraging: hide a roll in bedding, hay or a food toy for an extra challenge.
Easy to portion: you can easily break a roll into pieces for small animals.
Also fun to share: suitable for multiple animals in one household (e.g. rats or guinea pigs together).
Bowl included: neatly presented or used as a snack station in the enclosure.
! Downside (honestly): this is a supplementary snack and also contains vegetable starch as a binding agent — so give it in moderation and keep the basic food leading.

Many snacks are either very monotonous or primarily "sweet." Sushi rolls are structured differently: they consist of pressed vegetables and are "coated" with herbs or flowers. Think of combinations like parsley with pea florets, peas and zucchini with carrots, carrots with parsley, beetroot with coconut flakes, or parsnips with beetroot. This variety makes them interesting for animals who love to choose, explore, and nibble.

This is especially practical for you as a caregiver:

  • One product for multiple moments: rewarding, enriching and foraging.
  • Easy to dose in small doses: great for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
  • Smart use for habitat enrichment: let your animal “work” for a snack instead of quickly eating from your hand.

How to use per animal species

Sushi Rolls are a supplementary pet food. Think of them as a treat: fun, but not unlimited. As a guideline, always start with a small piece, see how your pet reacts, and adjust the amount based on size, activity level, and overall diet.

  • Mouse: Break a roll into small pieces/crumbs. Sprinkle it in a sniffing container or lightly hide it in ground cover to encourage searching.
  • Dwarf hamster: Give a small piece (e.g., 1/8–1/4 roll). Hide it in the digging layer so your dwarf hamster has to actively search for it.
  • Hamster (Syrian): Give a larger piece (e.g., 1/4–1/2 roll). Perfect for hiding in hay or in a foraging area.
  • Gerbils: Provide small pieces and place them in a sand area or digging layer. Gerbils often find it extra exciting if they "come across" the treat while digging.
  • Dwarf rat: Give a small piece to each animal. It's a nice treat or hidden in a food puzzle.
  • Rat: Break a roll into pieces and use it as a reward for taming or training. You can also let it roll/search for extra activity.
  • Guinea pig: Offer small pieces as a variation. Always combine with plenty of hay and the regular diet.
  • Rabbit: Give a small piece (or, for larger animals, a roll at most) as a snack. Preferably use it as a search game in hay.
  • Chinchilla: Give sparingly. Choose a very small piece and don't give it too often; limit snack times.

Tip: Want to further encourage foraging? Combine Sushi Rolls with a snack ball, food puzzle, sniffing mat, or digging bucket. This way, you can instantly turn a snack into an activity.
