The Terracotta Tunnel is a beautiful large tunnel that, in addition to providing shelter, also helps prevent nail wear. Terracotta is quite rough and acts almost like a nail file for the animals. In addition, terracotta also has an insulating effect, making it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

A tunnel approximates the natural habitat of small rodents. In the wild, these also live in tunnels and castles. The tunnel also ensures that the animals feel safe because they are sheltered.

A nice idea is to place the tunnel under the bedding on the bottom of the enclosure with the open side towards the front. This way you can easily watch what the animals are doing in the tunnel.
