Degu platforms & ladders – extra living space, climbing and safe routes (wood & gnaw-resistant aluminum)
Degus are active animals that love to run, jump, and climb. With platforms and ladders, you can transform a single level into a complete climbing area with resting places, walking routes, and variety in the enclosure. Because degus are true rodents, the choice of materials is important: gnaw-proof aluminum is the most durable, while wood provides a natural look and is a fun enrichment. If you choose wood, always ensure there is plenty of alternative degu gnawing material and regularly check wooden items for wear and tear. As specialists in rodents and rabbits since 2011, we select platforms and ladders that fit practically into your décor and help keep your degus active and comfortable. Combine them cleverly with degu tunnels and degu houses for additional hiding and resting areas.
Durable, easy to clean, and ideal for real rodents. Perfect as a permanent "base."

Why platforms and ladders in a degu enclosure?
Platforms provide degus with additional living space without necessarily requiring a larger enclosure. They create resting areas at the top, viewing points, and clear routes through the enclosure. Ladders and bridges connect zones and make the layout more challenging. For a complete climbing area, combine this with hiding places such as houses and play/search equipment from the Play & Forage section .
What should you look for with degu plateaus?
Pay attention to gnawing behavior (aluminum is the most durable), a stable mounting , and a safe walking surface . Avoid sharp edges and check wooden platforms regularly. If you choose wooden products with mounting hardware, check them periodically for wear and tear and replace them promptly if anything becomes loose.
Types & materials: corner platform, race track, suspension bridge or stairs
Corner platforms are ideal for utilizing space, while straight platforms make a nice base. A racetrack/corner platform allows you to create a "walking route" along the edges. Bridges and suspension bridges create a playful effect and connect zones, such as a 77 cm wooden suspension bridge or a 55 cm willow bridge .
