Shipping and receiving days
Have you placed an order? Great! Below you’ll find our standard shipping and delivery schedule. DRD Knaagdierwinkel® ships all parcels via PostNL. We do everything we can to send your order as quickly as possible, but we are also dependent on the postal service.
Monday before 5 pm> Tuesday
Tuesday before 5 pm> Wednesday
Wednesday before 5 pm> Thursday
Thursday before 5 pm> Friday
Friday before 5 pm> Saturday
Saturday before 3 pm> Monday
Please note: The days listed above are indicative. During busy periods (such as holidays or promotions), delivery may take longer. DRD Knaagdierwinkel® is not liable for any delays during transport or caused by external circumstances at PostNL.
Orders placed on Sundays or public holidays will be processed on the next working day.
Picking up your order in Holland
Would you prefer to pick up your order yourself? No problem!
During checkout, you can select ‘Pick up in store’. You can pay in advance through one of our payment methods or pay upon collection.
Once you have received a pick-up notification from us, your order will be ready for collection during the following hours:
Pick-up hours:
Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Collection is only possible after you have received confirmation that your order is ready. Orders not collected within 14 days after notification may be cancelled and restocked.
Shipping with PostNL
All orders are shipped exclusively with PostNL. We do not use any other shipping partners.
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a Track & Trace code by email to track your parcel.
Shipments within the Netherlands
0 - 23 kg/96 Liter € 5,49
23 - 46 kg/112 Liter € 11,99
For heavier or larger shipments, pricing will continue in the same manner.
Shipments to Belgium
0 - 23 kg/96 Liter € 6,25
23 - 30 kg/112 Liter € 12,49
For heavier or larger shipments, pricing will continue in the same manner.
Shipments to Germany
0 - 2 kg € 7,25
2 - 5 kg € 8,25
5 -10 kg € 9,25
10-20 kg € 10,75
For heavier or larger shipments, pricing will continue in the same manner.
Pallet shipping
- Netherlands: €65 (includes free insurance)
- Belgium: €95 (includes free insurance)
- Germany: €185 (includes free insurance)
Your order will be shipped via pallet delivery in the following cases:
- Orders over 90 kg
- Terrariums up to 120 cm
- As required by PostNL
Note: In some cases, PostNL may decide to deliver your parcel to a nearby PostNL location instead of your provided address. This can occur during busy periods, due to weather conditions, delivery restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our control (force majeure). If this happens, PostNL will notify you with the new collection location and instructions.
DRD Knaagdierwinkel® has no influence over this and cannot be held responsible for any delays or inconvenience caused.
Pickup at a PostNL location
Picking Up at a PostNL Location
Would you rather have your parcel delivered to a PostNL pick-up point? No problem!
During checkout, you can select a location of your choice.
Important: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide the correct shipping address and/or pick-up point.
Any extra costs or delays caused by incorrect address details are the customer’s responsibility.
Picking Up from a PostNL Parcel Locker
When you choose delivery to a PostNL Parcel Locker, you will automatically receive a notification once your parcel is ready for collection.
How it works:

You receive a notification via email, SMS, or the PostNL app with a collection code.

The message includes the locker location.

Go to the locker and enter the collection code on the screen.

The correct compartment will open automatically.

Take out your parcel and close the door.
Always follow the on-screen instructions.

Tip: Use the PostNL App
Download the PostNL app to stay up to date with your delivery status.
The app shows where your parcel is, when it will be delivered, and any changes in the schedule. You can also contact PostNL directly for questions or delivery updates.
The app also allows you to give direct feedback to your courier.
If something goes wrong, simply give a thumbs-down in the app — your feedback goes straight to PostNL and/or the driver so they can act quickly and resolve the issue.
DRD Knaagdierwinkel® has no access to this communication but highly recommends using the PostNL app for the most accurate and up-to-date delivery information.
