The Trixie Wooden Rodent House is a very spacious house made of wood. The enclosure has a deep base that provides space for more than 25 cm of bedding, ideal for hamster scaping ! At the front it is possible to watch with the animals thanks to the acrylic glass. Both the lid at the front of the enclosure and the top can be opened for easy access during changing. The lid is fitted with metal mesh and secured with a lock system.

Opening at the front and top possible
Ideal for Hamsterscaping

For which rodents is this wooden rodent enclosure suitable?

The rodent enclosure is suitable for Mice, Dwarf Hamsters and Hamsters. However, we do not recommend the stay for Gerbils, Degus and Syrian Hamster females because of the wooden material, because they are known for the fierce gnawing behavior. The higher platforms must be secured for a dwarf hamster so that the animals cannot fall off or have a soft landing if they do.

Is Hamsterscaping possible with this stay?

Certainly! A beautiful hamster scaping environment can be created within this enclosure. Thanks to the high edge of the enclosure, a nice thick layer of bedding of up to 25 cm can be used. The closed walls on the sides and back give the animals a safe feeling and also ensure that any mess remains within the enclosure. For the sake of convenience, we have placed all hamsterscape ground covers in a clear category, it is also nice to mix ground covers with each other to create a digging environment for the rodents.

Is the wooden enclosure easy to clean?

The major disadvantage of wood is that it absorbs moisture, but luckily Trixie has taken this into account. The wood has therefore been treated with a protective layer, however, large damp spots will still be able to affect the wood. For extra protection, we recommend applying an extra layer of clear coat, especially in places that can get very wet. . Most rodents choose a single corner or spot to urinate, with the urine often soaking into the bedding and not coming into contact with the wood.

Furthermore, the lid and the upper part of the front can be opened, providing easy access to the contents of the enclosure and easy cleaning.

Is the stay delivered including content?

No, unfortunately not, the content is only an example of what is possible and what a device could look like. It also immediately gives an impression of what fits in the enclosure and how the parts can be placed, for example.
