For mice, the hammock may be hung higher in the enclosure. Mice are good climbers who like to sleep at the top of the enclosure. Make sure that any fall is always broken.

For Dwarf hamsters and hamsters, the hammock should be hung a little lower, these animals cannot climb very well and do not see depth. The exception to this is the Chinese Dwarf Hamster, which can climb better.
