Mice are social animals and prefer to lie together in a hammock. Mice are very good climbers and prefer to sleep high in the cage. It is therefore best to hang the hammocks high in the cage.
Are hammocks for mice suitable for every season?
Many hammocks have a warm and a cold side. The warm side is lined with sheepskin (imitation) and the cold side is nylon. Mice almost always sleep together, which keeps them nice and warm, but they certainly appreciate a warm hammock! In the summer when it is a bit warmer you can offer the Muisjes the cool side. They will be very happy with it!
Do mice gnaw their hammock?
Hammocks are very popular with the Mice, but unfortunately not gnaw resistant. To give the hammock a long life, we recommend, especially with young mice, to provide them with sufficient distraction. Hammock gnawing often arises from boredom or from a lack of nesting material . Mice like a nice soft bed to sleep in, if this is not the case, they will use the hammock for it.
Do mice like to play?
TIP! Mice are playful and active animals. Give them lots of toys, climbing material, nibbling material, plateaus, tunnels, houses, etc. so that they do not get bored. If you feel that there is almost no space left to add something to the cage, then the design is Mouse friendly!
