Crinkle nesting material is made of paper and is ideal as play bedding and nesting material for small rodents and rabbits. Due to the special shape of the paper strands, the whole thing rustles as soon as the animals walk through it. This gives a playful and exciting effect. In addition, the Crinkle nesting material is completely dust-free and therefore healthy for the lungs. It also does not stick to the bottom and it is easy to use. The Crinkle can be placed as a top layer over the standard bedding or used as nesting material. It is also very nice to hide something tasty in between.

Instructions for use Crinkle

For small rodents as a top layer (Mouse, Dwarf Hamster, Hamster, Gerbil)
Fill the enclosure with the standard ground cover and apply a layer of Crinkle of 5 to 10 cm on top. Sprinkle some treats through the layer and let the animals show their natural behavior by looking for their food (foraging).

For larger rodents as a top layer (Rat, Guinea pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla, Degu)
Fill the enclosure with the standard ground cover and apply a layer of Crinkle of 10 to 20 cm on top (depending on the animal). Sprinkle some treats through the layer and let the animals show their natural behavior by looking for their food (foraging).

Crinkle as Nest Material
The Fresh Crinkle is very well suited as nesting material for small rodents and rats. Rats love to drag the Crinkle with them to their sleeping houses high up in the enclosure. An advantage for Rats is that the Crinkle is dry and absorbs moisture very well. Some rats sometimes pee in their sleeping place, so Crinkle can help keep it dry.

For small rodents such as Mice, Dwarf Hamsters, and Gerbils, the Crinkle is nice as nesting material in their burrows. It also helps to keep the sleeping places dry.

Crinkle as ground cover for rodents and rabbits
Crinkle is much less suitable as a stand-alone ground cover. Although the absorption of the Crinkle is very good, the loose structure is not optimal as a basic ground cover. It could possibly be possible for larger rodents with an underlayment. The bottom layer catches puddles that the Crinkle didn't catch.
