Bunny over the Mouse
The color mouse is a small granivorous (seed-eating) mammal and belongs to the rodent order. They are mainly active (but adaptable) at night, very social and live in groups made up of related family members. They have a life expectancy of 2 to 3 years and reach a body length of 6.5 to 9.5 cm and a body weight of 20 to 40 g.
Originally the color mouse comes from West Central Asia and North India. There it lives in steppe areas and semi-deserts and builds its nests in self-dug holes or in crevices between stones. Today, the color mouse can be found all over the world and likes to feed on agricultural cereals.
Like all small mammals, the color mouse has its own nutritional needs.
They keep on growing, so that the feed has to provide the necessary tooth wear. Hardness, size and type of feed particles are important here.
The stomach consists of one chamber and is separated by a mucous membrane into a part without a gland and a part with a gland.
Color mice have a small cecum. As a result, they can only process raw fibers to a limited extent. Therefore, feed with a crude fiber content of less than 10% is optimal.
Granivorous (seed-eating) animals need animal proteins. The valuable amino acids are important for cell renewal and various metabolic processes.
High energy requirement
The fast animals have a higher metabolism and therefore a special energy requirement.
