JR Farm Birch Harvest
Birches (Betula pendula) are part of the natural food of rodents. They encounter birches in the wild everywhere and like to nibble on the bark, the twigs and the leaves of this tree. Birches are particularly rich in fiber and vitamins.
The birch harvest can be used as a natural (gnaw) snack, but is also nice for a natural rodent stay! For the larger rodents the birch branches can be placed in the residence as gnaw and nibble material, but in the small rodent stay the twigs can also serve as decoration. Especially nice with the hamsterscapen!
The leaves of the Birch have blood purifying properties and help with bladder infections. The tea from the bark or leaf would help with diabetes. The branches are a source of fiber, but also help in the wear of the teeth. An advantage to natural gnawing material is that the animals only gnaw at it if they really have gnawing needs or a need for fiber.
